the long weekend

The long weekend felt like longer than ever. It was like having quite a long break.
It’s different this year. As it marked 50th anniversary, I feel the excitement of the nation waiting and celebrating the day.

While all my relatives went back, as it’s been a long weekend, I decided not to. Well…it wasn’t totally about celebrating the day, but as I just met my parents every week, for the past 2 weeks and mum said it’s ok instead of me spending 5 hours driving back over the weekend. Plus, LPT could be crowded over the long weekend.

Ucop was around and stayed at Traders. We’d been meeting for the past few days, for dinner and tea.

I had nothing in mind as I was more eager to see the parade, rather than spending my night with thousands people and then wondering and struggling to get back home as the celebration over.

I spent my after-work hours with ucop and shahrul. We sipped kopitiam offers while watching KLCC fountain from level 2 of Suria. It did pop up, the plan to join the merdeka’s eve celebration at dataran merdeka, but then didn’t happen as I had to wait for Fadzli who planned to sleep at my place that night. While ucop had the night spent with his siblings, watching the fountain show from level 21 of traders hotel.

The 12.00 midnite thing kind of anti-climax, as what I watched in the TV. No major fireworks and I think the mc of the night kind of weirdo. Plus, they said pak lah speech was redundant.

From my balcony, no fireworks lighten the midnight sky and only the noise made by the residents of the condo cheer up the moment.

I hate waiting.
Fadzli arrived damned late as he had to send his friend to PJ and then stuck in the traffic jam along the MRR2.

I slept around 2.30am that night.

As ucop gave me the confirmation to join me watching the parade, my day started as early as 6.30am that day. Fadzli continued his journey to Bentong, after fetched me to the LRT station.

It wasn’t like other holiday or weekend morning, as I wasn’t the only early bird. People, either with friends or family filled the morning train and it was packed like those working days morning train. I guess everybody was heading to watch the parade.

I didn’t go straight to dataran merdeka as ucop offered me to join him for breakfast at traders. It took a while and we went to dataran a bit late, around 9.30 a.m. Sure, we did miss a lot, as the event was about to end as we arrived. We only managed to catch last few batches of team and sukhoi jet fighter performance on air. Not much pictures managed to be shot, as I couldn’t get a good spot since the place as expected packed.

It was a good experience, even I wish we could’ve come earlier. This is my first time celebrating merdeka in KL and watching the parade live and I would say I feel honored to be part of the day there. I touched me as everybody sang our ‘Negaraku’ there and it made me ponder a while that it had been long since the last time I sang this song, with all my heart. We then back to KLCC and did some shopping as it was still early and as ucop invited me to join him for a ride back. We went home after Friday prayer.

I didn’t have much in my mind on the plan for my Saturday, except going for giving my baby jazz routine bath and do some supply shopping at Jusco. But then ain called me and I decided to take her for day out in Putrajaya, as usual.

Luckily, putrajaya had more than usual to offer. We went for its Flora Fest before did some shopping at Alamanda in the afternoon.

I bumped onto Laily and E, who were at Flora Fest with their parents. E used to be my closed friend back when I was in F1, but then everything changed. I’m not sure what the incident was, but may be because I was the one who couldn’t fit into his kind of friends.

Funny, as while did some shopping at Carrefour, somebody suddenly hit me and it was norsham, my cousin who’s currently reading for teaching degree in UPSI. She was on weekend break at her friend’s house. She changed a lot, physically...yeah…she used to be same size like my sister…but now as I met her…makin slim pulak cousin aku nih. Hehehe…tgh bercinta kot.

I spent quite a lot...well...with all the groceries for both me and my adik, few DVDs and bought a bermuda short.

Back home, I spent the night watching one of the DVDs that I bought.

Smsed Ucop, inviting him to join me for breakfast, but as usual, he never able to make it. Since I bought quite a number of food yesterday, I decided to prepare my own breakfast. After that, I spent my whole days reading the papers, watching TVs and ironed my clothes etc. By the way, finally managed to have all the DVDs that I bought watched.

Except Sunday, my weekend had been full of things and I guess that’s the reason I felt it’d been a long one. And you bet, my had my Monday blues…pretty serious…hehehehe.
