the GangStarz

the past 2 episodes really set the who will rule the competition. it was like 'langit dan bumi' to compare the performance between those malaysian wannabes and those from our neighbour. i quoted to my housemate, ' are those the best that malaysia can offer? sigh...kena titik baik punya dengan indon nye band!'. Disappointment, that what i felt seeing those groups from malaysia performed. May be Vernon was right about those 'perasan' thing. Sigh.
the 2nd show was really an eye opener ( i was too bored watching the 1st show) and i would give 2-thumbs to mendua, g-18 and especially TheLima who stole the night with their well-done performance.
last night was the first elimination night and it was opened with such energetic performance of G-18 and e-voke. Between both, i would choose G-18 as e-voke is lacked of vocal and too excited on the dancing part. the whistle tones thing...well ...sort of showing off thing. do you have to copycat as you sing the song?
all those rap group, sorry to say...you guys are suck.
the ladies...aduh...n-quint were too shaky and nervous, while luscious...macam makcik2...and the winner goes to pianka. they did better this time...but still i don't feel comfortable to realise that high pitch/soprano/or whatever voice came from the tallest girl of the group. but then syafinaz said they were the most harmonise group...aiyoo..cikgu vokal dah cakap gitu....may be i was the one that a bit deaf about tones, tunes etc.
1st edition - yeap...high school concert
flava - nasyid..nasyid..nasyid...
equal star - i don't know why they have so much spot light by tv3...kerek gaban group nih as they think they stands as something like il-divo thing. erghh...it annoys to see the overexcited dancing when they sang 'Kata' previously...and this week..hehe..apa punya fesyen la...betul kata maple...macam kabaret.
mendua was good and a bit laid back with their safe performance. but as their vocals stood out and the chemistry was there, i enjoy the performance even it wasn't as good as their own rendition on 'My Heart' ( it was superb!).
of course..the night belonged to TheLima...perhaps the most consistent group and been praised all over since the first show. they appeared like a professional group, have stunning vocal and the most important thing is they enjoy the performance without overdo the dancing etc. they don't have to overdo all those sing acapella-to-show-the-harmony-thing etc...
they gonna win this competition! like vernon said..group lain boleh bungkus la...hehehe
the thick line that divides those malaysian and indonesia group are - originality. as those indonesian groups particularly TheLima, Mendua and G-18 didn't try to copycat the style of the original singers...they made the song as their own.
so my top3:
1- theLima
2. Mendua
3. G-18
i rest my case and eagerly waiting for next week performance.
